Volunteer Opportunities

A pool of volunteer geologists and geophysicists is being established to fill openings on the Board's standing committees as they occur. The committees are: Examination, Technical Advisory and Legislative. If appointed to a committee, an individual is expected to donate 6 to 8 days per year to attend committee meetings plus additional time for projects. Committee appointments are unpaid except for expenses.

The minimum qualifications for a licensee member of a standing committee are:

• Ten years of professional experience in his or her field
• Current California licensure as a geologist or geophysicist
• No pending or prior disciplinary action
