Call for Geologist and Geophysicist Volunteers
The California Board for Geologists and Geophysicists (Board) is seeking dedicated Professional Geologists (PG), Professional Geophysicists (PGp), Certified Engineering Geologists (CEG), and Certified Hydrogeologists (CHG) to volunteer their knowledge and expertise in identifying risks and proposing mitigation measures related to:
- Post fire-burned area response and rehabilitation
- Flooding response
- Post earthquake response
Volunteers will identify geohazard risks associated with natural disasters and provide technical support and coordination for local response task forces taking direct natural disaster response action. Volunteers will be made available to advise the public and local, state and federal government during response and recovery stages of natural disasters including floods, fires, and earthquakes. The Board together with local authorities will coordinate actions of volunteers in response to these emergencies. Your participation will enable you to make valuable contributions to California’s public health and safety during and after natural disasters.
